Description
Leadership and Performance Management
- Manage trade and performance of prime locations, Timberland Branded retail outlets across Gauteng.
- Lead the retail management team in strategic development aligned with business objectives.
- Provide strong leadership to foster a cooperative, responsive, results-oriented, and highly competitive retail culture.
- Build and manage a motivated and professional team capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, ensuring standards in finance, production, customer service, and quality are met.
- Coach and develop junior managers to effectively lead their teams.
- Set and communicate retail standards across the business.
Sales Planning and Measurement
- Compile the Region POE.
- Implement industry best practices to enhance sell-out.
- Conduct in-depth commercial analysis, including competitor activity, with monthly SWOT reports.
- Manage field activity reports and share insights with the buying and planning teams to grow market share and brand equity.
- Prepare visual checklists with photos as PowerPoint presentations, including suggestions for VM improvements aligned with stock densification standards.
- Recommend promotional plans to increase sell-out.
- Manage weekly sales planning, review store performance, and set targets.
- Conduct a minimum of two training sessions weekly with documented minutes.
- Develop mid-month action plans based on sales projections.
- Address customer complaints within 24 hours.
- Promote cross-store collaboration to ensure consistency.
- Set targets for direct reports and develop action plans with allocated resources and budgets.
- Build and maintain a customer database to enhance customer experience in this competitive market.
- Plan daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.
- Identify, prioritize, and track market opportunities.
- Manage area profitability in collaboration with operations.
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards and manage store administration.
- Oversee risk management and respond to internal audit findings.
- Manage headcount and performance of underperforming sectors.
- Develop staff and store manager skills as part of area development.
- Manage equipment functionality and communication with suppliers.
- Maintain effective communication with landlords and resolve queries promptly.
- Manage individual site demands, especially outside business hours and seasonal peaks.
- Participate in health and safety committees and audits.
Opportunity Assessment and Market Competitiveness
- Manage inventory, supplies, and budgets across seven stores.
- Analyze trends for strategic planning.
- Conduct market potential studies and analyze competitor activity.
- Generate insights and take appropriate actions based on analysis.

Requirements
Qualifications / Experience
- Over 5 years of management experience in retail environments.
- Strong commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and numeracy skills for team leadership.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and translate strategic directions into actionable tasks.
- Knowledge of retail computer systems.
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
