Area Manager

Our client in the Agricultural industry, part of a leading international company, is seeking a experienced Area Manager to join their dynamic team Minimum requirements :

• Matric
• Relevant qualification or degree is highly beneficial
• 10 years' of experience in citrus farming
• 3 years' of experience in a management role (Area Manager or Division Manager)
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English
• Valid drivers license

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee the crop estimation process by collaborating with farm managers to gather necessary data, consolidating that information and coordinating with the Supply Chain team for effective planning
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to initiate, plan, coordinate and execute the following programs : Fertilization, irrigation, spraying and pruning
• Manage projects as needed to ensure successful implementation
• Develop and oversee the harvesting plan, taking on a proactive leadership role to ensure timely harvesting
• Maintain ongoing communication with supply chain and packing facilities to facilitate seamless coordination between harvesting, packing and shipping processes
• Prepare, present and manage the agricultural budget effectively
• Advocate for best practices and innovative technologies to enhance farm operations
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HSE and audit standards
• Oversee the farm maintenance strategy to ensure optimal operational efficiency
• Establish, implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the designated area and team
