A prominent food services company in Cape Town is looking for a Warehouse Operator to manage stock, ensuring systematic organization and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate has at least a Grade 10 education and 1-2 years of warehouse experience. Responsibilities include conducting inventory checks, picking orders, and adhering to health and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and physical strength are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management
Conduct physical inventories and report quality variances. Keep products separated, organized, and in good rotation. Monitor product quality frequently, reporting problems to mitigate spoilage. Sort, organize, and store products properly. Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors. Stack and organize large bulk items. Ensure products are rotated with the earliest sell-by dates at the front. Assist with moving stock into the warehouse. Pack all received stock into designated areas. Pack away return stock promptly and double-check all received stock. Assist with stock takes.
Segregate expired and damaged stock, updating logs and documentation for inventory processing. Monitor and report slow-moving and non-moving products. Replenish pick faces accurately and systematically. Label and re-label all bulk storage pallets correctly. Adhere to stock rotational procedures. Transfer bulk stock from holding pallets into correct pick faces.
Picking Processing
Ensure quick and accurate picking of all orders. Pull and pack products based on daily orders. Organize orders efficiently for staging. Ensure products are in sellable condition as per company SOP. Present orders in a logical and neat order. Pack orders in the correct staging area. Verify materials and supplies listed on production orders. Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing products.
Storage and Stock Handling
Label items accurately using labelling equipment. Pack received stock properly and neatly on pallets. Store stock according to requirements. Package, seal, and tag stock for correct storage. Arrange items in containers and bins following instructions and place containers on pallets. Check storage containers for damages. Secure stock on pallets to prevent damages. Scan delivered items and ensure quality. Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control. Handle products according to specific procedures. Keep stock-handling equipment clean and report any repairs needed.

Adhere to housekeeping standards and health & safety procedures.
