To provide technical expertise across the design, planning, and construction phases.

As an Architectural Technologist, they will work closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals to bring design concepts to life.

Their role will involve developing detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and construction documentation, ensuring the efficient and precise execution of projects.

They will be expected to apply relevant knowledge of building codes, regulations, materials, and construction methods to deliver high-quality design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Development: Assist in translating architectural concepts into detailed technical drawings, specifications, and 3D models.
2. Technical Drawings: Produce detailed and accurate plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
3. Building Codes & Regulations: Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, zoning laws, and other regulatory requirements.
4. Construction Documentation: Prepare comprehensive construction documents, including technical specifications and material schedules.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the technical integrity of designs and to resolve construction issues.
6. Project Coordination: Assist in coordinating the technical aspects of projects, ensuring timelines are met and budgets are adhered to.
7. Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess project progress and ensure compliance with design and quality standards.
8. Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable design practices into projects to ensure energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
9. Quality Control: Conduct quality checks to ensure drawings and documentation are accurate and free of errors.
10. Client Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns related to technical aspects of projects.

Qualifications:

1. Education: A degree in Architecture, or a related field.
2. Experience: 2 - 5 years of experience in architectural technology, with a solid understanding of construction processes and techniques, preferably 3- 5 years experience.
3. Professional Registration: SACAP registration required.
4. Bonus: Background in Town planning/ urban design.
5. Software Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Lumion. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is preferred. This individual must show strong proficiency in Revit Worksharing, Revit groups, and creating Revit families.
6. Knowledge of Building Codes: Strong knowledge of local building codes, zoning laws, and construction regulations.
7. Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in creating technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
8. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
9. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address design challenges and construction issues.

The applicant must attach a CV and portfolio showcasing their top 10 projects and must not be more than 20 pages long.

Salary & Support Considerations:

Proposed salary: R320 000 per annum (R26 700 per month)
