Architectural Designer

Overview

Woolpert Africa is hiring an Architectural Designer to join our dynamic Buildings Team at our Johannesburg, South Africa office. This position reports to the Regional Team Leader and is responsible for leading a team in the development and delivery of all project deliverables. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 6 years’ related experience. Priority will be given to candidates who are SACAP registered.

Responsibilities

As an Architect at Woolpert, you will:

1. Lead a team in the development and delivery of all project deliverables, from concept through completion, including construction and closeout.
2. Collaborate with firm leaders, the Project Lead, and an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-performing, complex projects for major technology clients.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with medium-sized projects such as retail, multi-family residential, or commercial developments.
• Master's degree in Architecture.
• Strong design, execution, and problem-solving skills, especially in complex projects.
• Commitment to staying current with architectural technologies, materials, and sustainability practices.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit; BIM skills are advantageous.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
• Strong digital modeling and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• SACAP registration is preferred.
