A client company in Paarl is looking for a BIM Modeller to create detailed 3D models based on design data. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to project standards and facilitate coordination among multiple disciplines. Ideally, you have 5-10 years of experience in architecture or construction and are highly skilled in advanced modeling techniques. Qualifications

• 5 –10 years industry experience in architecture, engineering, or construction.
• Advanced modelling skills and strong knowledge of ISO19650.
• Familiarity with BIM tools like Plannerly, Solibri, and Python is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of ISO19650 and BS EN 17412.
• Proficient in the use of Autodesk and/or Bentley software.

Responsibilities

Overview

Hire Resolves Client based in Paarl is seeking a BIM Modeller to join their team. The BIM modeller role is central to achieving a fully complete and coordinated design. Ideally, the engineer produces the design, and the BIM modeller then builds the model of what will be constructed in the natural environment. The BIM modeller can therefore also be described as the virtual or digital builder. The role is accountable for capturing all design data in an accurate, contextual 3D model. The 3D model file acts as the information container which increasingly constitutes the final design deliverable. The BIM Modeller role can be performed by specialist BIM modellers, technicians, technologists, or qualified engineers with the required discipline knowledge and BIM skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute the 3D digital build with the required authoring software to accurately capture the design and all design related data. Produce computations where qualified to do so.
• Pay careful consideration to the context, relevant interfaces through daily interference checks, and buildability of the model elements during the digital build.
• Work with the BIM Coordinator to ensure the baseline LOIN is achieved by using the correct object templates, libraries, and config files during the digital build.
• Work with the engineer / designer to ensure that all required metadata not automatically generated is manually added to the digital build elements, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and a real commitment to data accuracy.
• Contribute to the BIM collaboration strategy as set out, and take ownership of multidisciplinary interface coordination during the digital build.
• Achieve completion of various aspects of the digital build as set out in the MIDP and TIDP to maintain the agreed cadence of model federation and information sharing.
• Achieve ongoing project adherence to the BEP / EIRs.
• Prepare 2D design detailing and annotations that may include views, standard details, general notes, legends, sheets, layouts, and revision control.
• Work closely with the engineering team to ensure the design intent is accurately communicated and understood during digital build execution.
• Work closely with the BIM Coordinator and Information Manager to ensure the smooth flow of complete and coordinated information via the CDE.
• Flag any issues encountered during the digital build to the BIM coordinator as a matter of urgency to avoid unnecessary delays to the process.
• Clearly communicate detailing requirements to the BIM detailer.
• Engage with clients and external stakeholders to understand interfaces with and intended timings of their deliverables.

Requirements

• 5 –10 years industry experience in architecture, engineering, or construction.
• Advanced modelling, federation, and information management skills.
• Multidisciplinary modelling skills highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of ISO19650 and BS EN 17412.
• Proficient in the use of either the Autodesk & / or Bentley suite.
• Familiarity with Plannerly, Solibri, BIMcollab, Dynamo and Python advantageous.
