Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead solution architecture in Durban, aligning technology with business strategy and guiding development teams.

You will oversee cloud and on-prem specifications, govern EA standards, manage risk and budgets, and collaborate with partners to deliver sustainable value for the organization.

Qualifications

• Qualification in IT or IS.
• Certification and knowledge of EA methodologies (TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT).
• Experience leading software development teams.
• Strong understanding of agile development methodologies.
• Customer-focused software design using design thinking.
• Experience in project and operational risk management.
• Budget planning, forecasting and control.

Responsibilities

• Develop solution architectures for specific business, infrastructure or functional areas.
• Evaluate architectures and trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability.
• Produce specifications for cloud/on-prem components and interfaces.
• Manage full software development life cycle.
• Engage stakeholders and ensure organization readiness and adoption.
• Coordinate Go-Live with operational environments.
• Review and approve specifications, blueprints and manuals.
• Support change programmes with technical plans and design principles.
• Understand client requirements, collect data, deliver analysis and problem resolution.
• Embed APQC within the organisation.
• Map technology to EA business model and value.
• Engage with strategic technology partners and vendors.
• Report on process progress and change management.

• Certification and working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT, etc.)
• Certified Required Experience: Leading and managing software development teams
• Comprehensive understanding of majority software development methodologies including agile

Responsibilities:

• Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas
• Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability
• Produces specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers and interfaces, for translation into detailed designs using selected services and products.
• Management of full software development cycle
• Strong stakeholder engagement Effective communication strategy to ensure organization readiness and application adoption
• Liaising with operational environments for Go-Live opportunities.
• Document review and approval (Specification, Technical Blueprints, Training, User manuals)
• Supports a change programme or project through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles that comply with enterprise and solution architecture standards.
• Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution
• Embed Enterprise Architecture framework (APQC) within organisation
