Job description

APQP Automotive Project Manager

Overview

Top automotive manufacturing firm seeks an experienced APQP Automotive Project Manager to own and manage the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, ensuring compliance with Toyota's Part Approval Process (PA) and Ford's eAPQP standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, quality, and suppliers, to achieve product launch and quality excellence.
  2. Own the APQP process within the organization and ensure alignment with OEM standards.
  3. Oversee PPAP submissions and ensure compliance with Toyota SQAM and Ford Q1 standards.
  4. Manage supplier APQP requirements and interface with OEM representatives for approvals.
  5. Ensure risk mitigation through effective FMEA reviews, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
  6. Lead APQP project execution, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with preference for APQP certification.
  • At least 5 years of APQP project management experience in the automotive industry.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and working with Toyota PA process or Ford eAPQP system.
  • Knowledge of ISO, IATF, VDA 6, and Ford Q1 standards.
  • Proven track record of successful product launches and supplier quality management.
Additional Skills
  • Mechanical Design exposure is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.
