Placements24 is offering a Trainee Mechanical Fitter Apprentice in Pietermaritzburg. Qualifications

• Minimum of Grade 10 with strong Mathematics and Physical Science.
• Willingness to learn practical skills.
• Good physical fitness and manual dexterity.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior fitters in the assembly, installation, and dismantling of mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of machinery components.
• Participate in workshop safety training and adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations.
• Develop skills in using a variety of hand and power tools relevant to mechanical fitting.
• Undertake assigned tasks related to preventative maintenance and minor repairs under supervision.
