Job summary

Placements24 is offering a Trainee Mechanical Fitter Apprentice role in Midrand. The program combines hands-on training with classroom theory to prepare you for a career in mechanical fitting.

You will work with experienced technicians, learn to read blueprints, assemble and install components, and perform routine maintenance while ensuring safety. Eligible applicants must have Grade 12 and a math/physical science focus, and be able to work in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Mathematics and Physical Science preferred).
• Strong interest in mechanical engineering and hands-on work.
• Ability to understand technical instructions and read drawings.
• Good physical stamina and dexterity.
• Eligible to work in South Africa and meet apprenticeship entry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with assembly and installation of components.
• Learn to read blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Participate in workshop training and on‑the‑job learning.
