Job summary

Placements24 invites applications for an Apprentice Instrumentation Technician position with our client in Upington, Northern Cape. This site-based role provides hands-on training in installation, calibration, maintenance and repair of measurement and control devices used in industrial processes.

You will work closely with experienced technicians to manage sensors, transmitters, control valves and PLCs, while building a strong understanding of process control loops.

Qualifications

• Completed Grade 12 with strong Math and Physical Science.
• Interest in instrumentation, electronics, automation, and process control.
• Willing to relocate to Upington and commit to an apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians in installation and commissioning.
• Perform routine calibration and testing of instruments.
• Troubleshoot faults under supervision.
• Read P&IDs, wiring schematics and manuals.
• Support PLC/DCS hardware maintenance.
• Maintain logs of calibration and repairs.
• Participate in training sessions and skill development.
