Placements24 is seeking an Apprentice Instrumentation Technician for its Rustenburg operations. The role combines workshop-based learning with on-site application, building practical and theoretical expertise in instrumentation and automation.

You will install, calibrate, maintain and repair instrumentation, read P&IDs, and support commissioning while adhering to safety and environmental policies. This paid apprenticeship offers mentorship and exposure to advanced automation technologies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist installation, calibration, and maintenance of industrial instruments (pressure transmitters, flow meters, level sensors, temp probes).
• Learn to diagnose faults in instrumentation and control systems.

• Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation equipment per schedule.
• Document maintenance activities and calibration records.
• Adhere to safety regulations and environmental policies.
• Participate in training to develop hardware/software skills.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities
