Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa is seeking an Apprentice Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician in Queenstown. This hands-on program covers the installation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

You will learn from experienced technicians and develop practical skills. The apprenticeship offers mentorship, exposure to a variety of HVAC technologies, and a clear path to a recognized qualification.

Qualifications

Matric certificate or equivalent.
A strong interest in mechanical and electrical systems.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work at heights and in various environmental conditions.
Willingness to learn and commit to the apprenticeship curriculum.

Responsibilities

Assist in the installation of refrigeration and air conditioning units.
Perform routine maintenance checks, including cleaning filters and checking refrigerant levels.
Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot problems with cooling and heating systems.
Develop skills in pipework, wiring, and soldering specific to HVAC systems.
Adhere to all safety protocols, especially when handling refrigerants and working with electrical components.
