Apprentice Energy Control Center Operator

This position: As an Apprentice Energy Control Center Operator, you'll play a key role in keeping the power system running smoothly and safely.

You will restore power faster by using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

You would act as the eyes and ears for our linemen, meter services technicians, and power quality technicians in the field.

This position requires shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis.

This position is also subject to on-call during emergencies.

Preferred: Valid driver's license.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of related experience.
• Six months of experience in telephone/radio communications.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching, and instruction for individuals and groups, and measuring training effects.
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with internal and external customers.
• Knowledge of engineering science and technology, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for designing and producing goods and services.
• Knowledge of telecommunications systems, including transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation.
• Effective communication skills via telephone and radio.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and perform duties under pressure.
• Computer literacy and basic clerical skills, including legible handwriting.
