Placements24 is seeking an Apprentice Electrician for an industrial engineering client in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This structured learnership offers hands-on training under experienced journeymen, focusing on installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in an industrial setting.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and a strong work ethic. Successful trainees may transition to permanent roles within the company after completion of the program.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with strong performance in Mathematics and Physical Science.
• Interest in electrical systems and industrial environments.
• Ability to follow complex instructions and technical diagrams.
• Good manual dexterity and physical fitness for the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation and wiring of electrical equipment, conduits and control panels.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on industrial electrical systems.
• Learn to diagnose and repair electrical faults and malfunctions.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Ensure safety regulations and codes are followed.
• Assist with troubleshooting power distribution and motor control issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and use tools properly.
• Document work performed and materials used.
• Participate in ongoing training and skill development.
