Applications Specialist

In Kennametal, we are looking for a professional to join us as an Applications Specialist in South Africa.

The purpose of the role is to train underground mining personnel in the use of Kennametal mining products.

Additionally, the specialist will report back and recommend continuous improvement projects to customers (via the Sales Engineer) and test new and existing products underground to promote growth.

Preferred location: Mpumalanga province or Johannesburg area (office located in Boksburg).

Accountabilities

• Train underground personnel on the correct usage of tools and promote/testing Kennametal products for continuous improvement and growth.
• Provide daily feedback to customers and Kennametal personnel on underground mining conditions and tool usage.
• Monitor and report on tests conducted underground.
• Document performance and production of consumables used underground.

Knowledge and Experience

• At least a high school diploma and a minimum of three years' experience in underground mining.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a plus.
• Knowledge of mining machinery and equipment.
• Practical knowledge of cutting systems, roof-support systems, and relevant replacement parts and consumables.
• Ability to identify and analyze significant problems and opportunities.
