Job description

Our client has a requirement for a resource to fulfil the role of I.T Applications Manager for the duration of 12 months to serve as the central liaison between Operations and IT for Manufacturing and Legacy Applications within the region.

This role is essential for ensuring seamless support and project management of applications driving digital transformation and overseeing legacy application modernization efforts.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with stakeholders, manage a team dedicated to application support, and work closely with Operations to define and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support models.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Being the central point of contact between Operations and IT for Manufacturing and Legacy Applications in the region (support and projects).
  2. Building strong relationships with stakeholders to enable effective dialogue exchange between departments.
  3. Managing the Manufacturing and Legacy Applications team.
  4. Working with Operations to agree on the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and the support model.
  5. Managing contracts for software licenses and maintenance support for regional applications.
  6. Ensuring the quality of service in accordance with the agreed SLAs.
  7. Delivering agreed enhancements following the IT Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Change Management process.
  8. Reviewing and providing a roadmap for legacy applications modernization and rationalization.
  9. Designing and presenting new solutions to the Architecture Review Board (ARB) for approval.
  10. Anticipating and mitigating risks, identifying improvement opportunities.
  11. Providing progress and status reports at regular intervals to stakeholders.
  12. Managing issues and requests utilizing the IT Service Management (ITSM) ticketing systems, ensuring tickets are progressing and resolved per SLAs.
  13. Organizing and leading application-related meetings.
  14. Determining staffing requirements and skills needed to support regional applications.
  15. Collaborating with the TOIS Center of Excellence (CoE) to prioritize enhancement requests.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of IT Applications or OT Applications management experience.
  • 10+ years of IT Applications Development experience in various languages.
  • Proficiency with Process Control Systems, Manufacturing Systems (MES), and historian systems such as Siemens Suite, Emerson DeltaV, Syncade, OSI PI, ThingWorx, Khronos Insight, Aveva Production Management, Honeywell Connected Plant, RT Duet.
  • Understanding of the ISA95 Purdue model.
  • Ability to translate Business Requirements (BR) into Functional Requirements (FR).
  • Strong organization and coordination skills.
  • Experience in developing project strategies and managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Excellent communication skills and relationship-building abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Management, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Additional preferred skills include experience with SAP ERP (S4 or ECC6), Cloud architectures (Microsoft Azure), Data Lakehouse, Data Factory, Databricks, Enterprise Architecture, and systems design.
  • Experience working in a multinational manufacturing environment, preferably in the Mining and Chemical industries.
  • Ability to work independently, influence stakeholders, and manage time effectively.
