Job summary

Dlk-Group in Cape Town is seeking a hands-on Developer – Applications & Data to join a technology team. The role involves maintaining live systems, improving governance, and building new applications as business needs evolve.

You will own existing applications, resolve issues, manage deployments and integrate with third-party systems, working with stakeholders across the business. This is not a remote role; you must be based in Cape Town and able to work full-time from the office.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of commercial software development experience.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
• Strong ability to read, understand, audit and improve code written by others.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database governance including migrations, access management, environments and backups.
• Experience deploying, troubleshooting and rolling back using Railway, AWS or Google Cloud Run.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, support and troubleshoot existing production applications.
• Investigate and resolve application, integration and data issues.
• Build and extend applications based on business requirements.
• Manage deployments, logs, troubleshooting and rollbacks.
• Maintain database and application governance.
• Integrate applications with third-party systems and APIs.
• Maintain and improve technical documentation.
• Work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Take ownership of existing applications and improve reliability and maintainability.
