Application Specialist - P2

This position is responsible for delivering, coordinating, managing and supporting technical services deployments of Sandvik Automation & Digital solutions. The Applications Specialist takes ownership and responsibility for project execution and client success on project tasks throughout the assigned region. This role specializes primarily in the deployment, ongoing services and support of software, system configurations and reports.

Key Performance Areas:

1. Perform 1st, 2nd and 3rd-line problem analysis of client system on-site with a high degree of customer satisfaction.
2. Verify software installations, system configurations and integrity of overall solution.
3. Provide SME level training to system power users and management teams.
4. Verify site audit reports, understand context, communicate impacts to various stakeholders including sales, services and clients.
5. Perform parameter discovery and signals detection on new equipment.
6. Work with sales and services managers to understand customer requirements, document and scope prospective applications, participate in the quoting process.
7. Present key deployment findings/outcomes and make suggestions for process improvements (internally) and operational improvements to key client stakeholders.
8. Engage periodically with Sandvik Automation R&D to scope, test and validate emerging technology and system enhancements.
9. Take responsibility for training junior members of the team.
10. Meet regularly with the sales team to review project opportunities and strategies.
11. Provide work estimates for inclusion in customer quotes and proposals.
12. Develop project and product-based documentation.
13. Follow the Safety-First policy and ensure safety training certificates are kept current.
14. Be an ambassador for the Sandvik Automation culture by ensuring the workplace maintains a positive, high-performance attitude.

Supervisory or Coaching role:

1. Provides subject matter guidance to colleagues.
2. Oversee and direct work completed by Level 1 and 2 Application Specialist.
3. Manage and Coordinate Level 1 and Level 2 On-Site activities.
4. Ensure all On-Site work is completed to the correct quality standards.

Your profile:

1. Undergraduate Degree (electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or, automation engineering).
2. Minimum 5 years' experience.

Technical Skills/Knowledge Required:

1. Operating systems, networking and servers.
2. Software Programming languages.
3. Understanding of Communication and Networking protocols (Wi-Fi, LTE, Ethernet etc).
4. Understanding of Application and software system architecture.
5. Embedded, Desktop and Server application deployment, commissioning, support.
6. Proficiency with reporting/dashboard tools such as MS Business Intelligence.
7. Software Integration and workflow orchestration.

2. Ability to solve complex problems.
3. Ability to mentor and coach coworkers.
4. Critical-thinking and time-management skills.
5. Customer oriented.

Full time Site Based (Westonaria – Goldfields South Deep).
