Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Apple Packhouse Manager, located in Harrismith. The Apple Packhouse Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the packhouse, ensuring that apples are processed and packaged to meet quality standards. Responsibilities include managing staff, coordinating packaging schedules, maintaining inventory, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. Additionally, the manager will implement efficiency improvements, maintain equipment, and liaise with suppliers and distributors.

Qualifications

  • Experience in packhouse management, staff supervision, and inventory management
  • Knowledge of quality control processes, health and safety regulations, and equipment maintenance
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant experience in the agricultural industry is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Management, or related field will be an extra advantage.
