Job description

We are looking for a specialist in Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager. Your core focus will be building reliable, scalable analytics implementations across both web and app environments, while helping clients understand the data architecture and value of clean, structured measurement.

Reporting to our Analytics Director, you will work with a team of implementation experts.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on digital measurement, with a strong understanding of the Google Marketing Platform and broader digital ecosystem
  • Translate business needs into data structures, tagging frameworks, and measurement strategies
  • Configure Google Analytics 4, including advanced features like custom events, enhanced e-commerce, and cross-domain tracking
  • Implement, configure, and debug Google Tag Manager (Web & App) tagging
  • Design and deliver tracking taxonomies, plans, and implementation guides
  • Test and validate all tracking implementations before handoff
  • Lead client conversations, walkthroughs, and solution presentations
  • Ensure high standards of data quality and documentation across all projects

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Analytics (UA & GA4) and Google Tag Manager (Web & App)
  • Strong understanding of data layers, event structures, custom dimensions, and metrics
  • Experience with Firebase and mobile SDK tagging
  • Solid knowledge of server-side tagging (sGTM), hands-on experience is a bonus, deep understanding is required
  • Demonstrated experience in debugging and resolving implementation issues
  • Clear, client-friendly communicator with strong presentation and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects across global clients and fast-paced environments

Advantageous:

  • Familiarity with Measurement Protocol, BigQuery, and querying structured datasets
  • Experience working in an agency or consulting environment
  • Exposure to mobile attribution tools like Adjust, AppsFlyer, or Branch
  • Awareness of privacy regulations like GDPR and POPIA, and how they impact data collection
