Job description

Our client, a boutique investment fund focusing on Clean Energy, is looking for an experienced analyst to join their team. The incumbent would have strong experience with Project Finance Modelling and Transactions within Renewables or Mining.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Build detailed financial models to evaluate new investment opportunities in renewable energy and clean infrastructure.
  2. Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario testing to support investment decisions.
  3. Prepare in-depth analysis for due diligence processes and transaction structuring.
  4. Draft comprehensive Investment Committee presentations highlighting key financial, operational, and strategic insights.
  5. Assist in creating compelling pitch decks and marketing materials for fundraising initiatives.
  6. Work with the deal team to review, negotiate, and execute legal agreements related to transactions.
  7. Collaborate with external legal counsel, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), and O&M (Operations and Maintenance) contractors to finalize project documents.
  8. Prepare quarterly investor reports including financial and operational updates.
  9. Work with external compliance officers to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  10. Coordinate annual audits with accountants and external auditors to ensure financial accuracy.
  11. Support the implementation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting frameworks.

Job Requirements:

  1. Honours in Accounting, Finance, or Investments.
  2. CFA or CA(SA) highly advantageous.
  3. 5-7 years of experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, or Corporate Finance.
  4. Experience within a small boutique investment firm would be advantageous.
