To contribute towards minimising bad debt, enhancing profit and mitigating and controlling risk for Capitec Business Bank (CBB) and Capitec Rental Finance (CRF) through:

  • Analysing, monitoring, and reporting on the book segmentation, tactical strategies, campaigns (calls/digital) and solutions for pre-delinquent, collections and recoveries.
  • Analysing, monitoring and reporting on book trends (for example, reasons/triggers for arrears, excess, risk grade changes, downgrades, write-offs and provisions).
  • Identifying, analysing and monitoring high risk portfolios, clients, book segments and industries in distress.
  • Contributing to researching, analysing, designing, implementing and monitoring optimal risk management solutions, in relation to systems, processes, policies and procedures.
  • Performing case study and root cause analysis on pre-delinquent, arrears and/or non-performing loans.
  • Performing arrears follow up, monitoring and control as required.
Experience

Minimum:

  • 2 – 3 years within a collections and/or recoveries, an ongoing-risk or credit management or operational experience
  • Applying data for reporting and monitoring purposes.
  • Credit and business analysis experience and influencing processes, policies and procedures.
  • Case study and root cause analysis
  • Consumer and complaint resolutions.

Ideal:

  • 3+ years of experience in an ongoing risk management role, in a credit environment.
  • Drafting business processes, policies and procedures
  • Project coordination and building strong relationships
  • Process efficiencies: Draft of idea documents and business specifications.
  • Credit book monitoring and reporting
  • Experience in granting, collections and/or recoveries and/or intuitive / judgemental credit environment within the financial services sector.

  • Higher Certificate in Credit Management or Banking
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
  • National Diploma in Accounting - Financial Accounting or Banking
Knowledge

Minimum:

  • Good understanding of credit and corporate legislation and processes.
  • Banking and financial services industry practice.
  • Collections and recoveries systems and processes
  • Operations and process management.
  • National Credit Act (NCA)
  • Retail and/or Business credit products (Fixed term and facilities)
  • Collections and/or recoveries systems and processes
  • Reporting and data analytics.

Ideal:

  • Credit risk management throughout the credit life cycle (granting to book sale)
  • Collateral variants / types of processes.
  • Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI)
  • Debt Collectors Act (DCA)
  • Capitec Bank's banking system (Front- and Back-End)
  • Programming language SQL and database structures
  • Knowledge of Capitec Bank’s Centralised Collections systems and processes
  • Relationship building and management techniques.
