About the Team

The Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Country Risk team comprises six analysts producing ten-year forecasts for all 49 markets in the region. Our work combines macro-political analysis with regional insights, including client briefings and presentations on topics such as growth, fiscal policies, foreign exchange issues, and security risks.

How You’ll Make an Impact :

  • Provide regular economic, political risk, and financial market analysis and forecasts for a portfolio of countries in the region.
  • Write research notes daily and contribute to monthly and quarterly reports, covering economic growth, fiscal & monetary policy, trade, debt, political risk, financial markets, and demographics.
  • Maintain and develop proprietary data sets to enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Engage with sales and clients, presenting key views and forecasts clearly during client interactions and industry events.

  • You have relevant experience as a macroeconomic or sovereign risk analyst, with skills in analytical writing, data management, and forecasting.

  • Strong analytical and writing skills, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Excellent public speaking abilities.
  • Experience working with large datasets and forecasting macroeconomic indicators, especially for emerging markets.
  • Programming skills in R/Python and expertise in quantitative analysis, data manipulation, statistical modeling, and visualization.
