Job summary

The Financial Intelligence Centre invites qualified applicants for a permanent Compliance Officer: Guidance and Outreach role in Gauteng. You will support supervised institutions and stakeholders in interpreting and applying the FIC Act, contributing to effective AML/CFT controls.

You will engage with external partners, develop guidance materials, and assist in outreach activities to strengthen compliance across sectors, requiring strong communication and Office productivity skills.

Qualifications

• Legal degree such as LLB or BCom Law.
• Three years in compliance/risk including practical AML/CFT/CPF exposure, with at least 2 years in AML/CFT/CPF environment.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and outreach expertise regarding supervised institutions, persons and sectors under the FIC Act.
• Engage with external stakeholders to ensure compliance to the FIC Act, exchange information, provide solutions and solve queries, related to standard matters, under guidance.
• Develop a sound understanding of various supervised institutions and sectors under the FIC Act.
• Identify problems and issues experienced within industry sectors affected by the FIC Act.
• Monitor domestic developments which impact on the control measures to combat money laundering and terror financing.
• Provide compliance solutions, solving queries by selecting from a set of possible alternatives.
• Critically assess the need for guidance to supervisory bodies, supervised institutions and sectors on application of the FIC Act.
• Assist in preparing guidance products for approval and issuance.
• Assist in conducting outreach when required.
• Assist in preparing media articles for approval and publication, including engaging with external stakeholders.
