Exciting Two permanent positions are available for Ambulance Emergency Assistants at Life Health Solutions (LHS), part of the Life EMS Department, in Richards Bay. The successful candidates will provide quality emergency medical and rescue services, ensuring effective, efficient, and compliant care that meets and exceeds client expectations. They will work 12-hour shifts on a rotational basis, depending on operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical and rescue services at designated sites.
- Administer emergency care, including medical response and rescue when required.
- Maintain legal compliance and confidentiality regarding personal and medical information.
- Adhere to HPCSA, Life LHS/Life EMS, and client professional and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene, following infection control and safety policies.
- Contribute to team communication and cooperation within EMS, occupational health clinics, and the client.
- Assist with patient testing, monitoring, and treatment in occupational health clinics.
- Perform administrative duties such as record keeping, stock control, and replenishment of first aid supplies.
- Support staff training and client emergency response teams.
- Participate in audits and ensure KPI compliance.
- Maintain physical fitness and pass relevant medical examinations.
Minimum Requirements
- Registration with HPCSA as an Ambulance Emergency Assistant with at least 3 years' clinical experience.
- Preferred courses: Motor Vehicle Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, American Heart Association BLS, International Trauma Life Support.
- Valid Code C1 (10) driver’s license with PrDP and own transport.
- Own accommodation.
