Essential Functions
- Performs head-to-toe assessments on all patients and re-assessments as per policy, including neonatal, paediatric, adolescent, geriatric patients, and the general patient population.
- Verifies that the assigned ambulance is mechanically sound and properly equipped at the start of each shift.
- Evaluates the nature and acuity of the illness or injury.
- Ensures that all medical and non-medical equipment is maintained, checked, and serviced, including the onsite ambulance and emergency care equipment, in accordance with VMIH policies.
- Organizes patient care to contribute to the overall quality of the team.
- Communicates information pertinent to patient transfer (e.g., admissions, ER transfer).
- Interacts professionally with staff members, physicians, and patients.
- Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and the ability to function under stressful situations.
- Values and demonstrates the team concept consistently.
- Maintains patient files and data collection at the highest standard, ensuring confidentiality.
- Handles inventory control of emergency supplies and disposables.
- Ensures full compliance during audits, manages stock control, incident and accident reporting, controlled medication reporting, and onsite training and development.
- Prepares and submits all weekly and monthly reports to the onsite clinic manager.
- Ensures continuous quality management throughout the clinic.
- Completes comprehensive handovers to relief paramedics after every shift.
