About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Structures Technician to join their maintenance team based in Welkom. This role is critical for maintaining the structural integrity of aircraft, ensuring they meet stringent safety and performance standards. You will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and fabricating aircraft structural components, working with a variety of materials including aluminum, composites, and other advanced alloys. This hands‑on position requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of aircraft metallurgy and structural dynamics, contributing directly to the safety and airworthiness of the fleet.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform structural inspections using visual, non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods, and other diagnostic techniques.

  • Repair and replace damaged or worn structural components according to approved data and technical specifications.

  • Fabricate precision parts and assemblies from various aircraft‑grade materials.

  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and repair manuals to guide structural work.

  • Ensure all structural repairs are performed in compliance with manufacturer specifications and aviation regulations.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention protocols.


Requirements


  • Proven experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft structural repair techniques and materials (aluminum, composites, titanium).

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including structural repair manuals and engineering drawings.

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and hand/power tools relevant to structural repair.

  • Understanding of aviation safety standards and FOD prevention procedures.

  • A relevant trade qualification or certification in aircraft structures is highly desirable.
