About the Role

A well-established aircraft maintenance organization located in East London is seeking a skilled Aircraft Structural Mechanic to join their dedicated team. This role is responsible for the repair, modification, and fabrication of aircraft structures, ensuring the integrity and airworthiness of the airframe. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metal and composite repair techniques and a meticulous approach to detail. This is a crucial role supporting the operational readiness of aircraft in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural repairs and modifications on aircraft airframes, including sheet metal and composite materials.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and repair schemes.
• Fabricate and install structural components according to specifications.
• Inspect aircraft structures for damage, corrosion, and fatigue.
• Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) as required.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with approved data, regulations, and company standards.
• Document all repairs and modifications accurately in the aircraft logbooks and maintenance records.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Collaborate with engineers and other maintenance personnel to resolve structural issues.

Requirements

• A recognized trade qualification as an Aircraft Structural Mechanic or Sheet Metal Worker, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft structural repair and maintenance.
• Proven experience with both metallic and composite aircraft structures.
