Placements24 in Cape Town seeks an experienced Senior Aircraft Mechanic focused on structural repairs to join our aircraft maintenance operations. You will lead major repair tasks, mentor junior mechanics, and uphold safety and quality standards to ensure fleet integrity.

The role requires a recognized Aircraft Maintenance Technician qualification with at least 7 years in aircraft structural maintenance, plus strong knowledge of metals and composites and SRMs interpretation.

Qualifications

• Must have recognized Aircraft Maintenance Technician qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in aircraft structural maintenance.
• Extensive knowledge of aircraft metals and composite repair techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret SRMs and technical drawings.
• Experience leading repair projects and mentoring team members.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor structural repairs on airframes, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces.
• Inspect for damage, corrosion and fatigue; develop repair plans.
• Operate and maintain tools for metal and composite repairs.
• Supervise junior mechanics on structural tasks, ensuring safety and quality.
• Maintain documentation of repairs, modifications and inspections.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor structural repairs on aircraft airframes, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces, adhering to approved data.
