Placements24 is seeking an Aircraft Performance Analyst for our client, a leading airline operations company, based in Tembisa, Gauteng. The role involves analyzing aircraft performance data, developing flight planning strategies, and driving fuel efficiency and cost reductions through data-driven insights.

You will collaborate with flight operations, maintenance, and engineering, deliver regular performance reports, and support selection of new aircraft types.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft performance analysis or a related analytical role within aviation.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, aircraft systems, thermodynamics, and performance metrics.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, statistical software) and ideally flight planning software.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and analyze aircraft performance data from flight data recorders and operational logs.
• Develop and refine flight planning models to optimize fuel efficiency, flight times, and costs.
• Monitor performance trends, identify deviations, investigate causes related to systems, aerodynamics, or operations.
• Collaborate with flight operations, maintenance, and engineering to implement performance improvements.
• Prepare regular performance reports and presentations for management with findings and recommendations.
• Assist in evaluation and selection of new aircraft types by providing performance-based analysis.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent airline operations company, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Aircraft Performance Analyst to join their technical team based in Tembisa, Gauteng, ZA . This role is crucial for optimizing flight operations by analyzing aircraft performance data, developing flight planning strategies, and ensuring efficient fuel management. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills, a deep understanding of aerodynamics and aircraft systems, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft performance analysis, flight operations engineering, or a related analytical role within the aviation industry.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, aircraft systems, thermodynamics, and performance metrics.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Excel, statistical software) and ideally flight planning software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa and willing to work on-site in Tembisa .
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of the role.
