Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Aircraft Component Technician in Soweto, Gauteng, to repair, overhaul, and test hydraulic and pneumatic system components for aviation applications. You will diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble components, while maintaining meticulous records and ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards.

The role requires a trade qualification or certification in Aircraft Mechanical Systems, Hydraulics, or Pneumatics, plus at least 4 years of hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or certification in Aircraft Mechanical Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in the repair and overhaul of aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and drawings related to hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with various types of aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments and specialized maintenance tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
• Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair, overhaul, and testing of aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic system components, including actuators, pumps, valves, accumulators, and landing gear systems.
• Diagnose system malfunctions and failures based on test results and component analysis.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble components according to technical manuals and specifications.
• Fabricate or procure replacement parts as needed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all repair, overhaul, and testing activities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards.
• Operate specialized test equipment and tools safely and effectively.
• Assist in maintaining component inventory and managing workshop resources.
• Stay current with the latest technologies and repair techniques in aircraft hydraulics and pneumatics.
