Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aircraft Dispatcher to manage flight operations from our Vereeniging hub. You will develop flight plans, monitor weather, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with flight crews and maintenance to keep schedules safe and on track.

In a fast-paced environment you will make critical decisions under pressure, apply SACAA rules, and use flight planning software to optimize routes. The role offers training and development within a dynamic aviation team.

Qualifications

• Valid Aircraft Dispatcher license or equivalent.
• Proven experience in flight planning or dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Develop and approve flight plans, considering weather, aircraft performance and ATC.
• Monitor flight progress, weather and operational status.

• Coordinate with maintenance and operations to resolve scheduling issues.
• Manage irregular operations including diversions and cancellations with professionalism.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and approve flight plans, considering factors such as weather, aircraft performance, and air traffic control.
• Monitor flight progress, weather conditions, and operational status throughout the flight.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation regulations (e.g., SACAA rules) and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with flight crews, providing updates on operational and meteorological conditions.
• Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and other departments to resolve any issues affecting flight schedules.
• Manage irregular operations, including diversions and cancellations, with professionalism and efficiency.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid Aircraft Dispatcher (or equivalent Flight Operations Officer) license.
• Proven experience in flight planning, dispatch, or flight operations coordination.

• Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
