Job summary

Afterskul is offering internship bursaries in partnership with Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) for South African youth. Trainees will have the opportunity to study at the Aviation Training Academy in Gauteng while engaging in hands-on roles such as Air Traffic Services Officer and more. Ideal candidates should have a Grade 12 certificate with passes in Mathematics and English, be medically fit, and willing to undergo training in various locations across the country.

  • Be unemployed South African Youth willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Trainees will undergo extensive training in various aspects of air traffic management.

Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) is offering 117 bursary opportunities to interested candidates to join the Air Traffic Services bursar programme. The programme provides each bursar with an opportunity to conduct their studies at the Aviation Training Academy in Bonaero Park, Gauteng.

The placement of successful trainees will be in line with the operational requirements of the organisation. Succesfull candidates will undergo extensive training and exposure to various aspects of air traffic management over a specified period.

The various Air Traffic Services bursar streams are listed as follows:

  • Air Traffic Services Officer (ATSO)
  • Aeronautical Information Management Officer (AIMO)
  • Target Generating Officer (TGO)
  • Airport Management Centre (AMC) Liaison Officer
  • Simulator Support Officer (SSO)

Requirements:

  • Grade 12/Matric certificate with a pass in the following subjects:
  • Pure Mathematics (Level 4 / HG – D or SG C or above)
  • English (Level 4 / HG – D or SG C or above)
    • South African citizen with a valid Identity Document
    • Medically fit and willing to undergo our medical assessment for the ATSO stream
    • Attach Grade 12 results to your application
    • Be willing to relocate anywhere in the country
    • Unemployed South African Youth

    NB. Applicants who previously were on a similar programme with ATNS will not be considered
