Blending Machine Operator Responsibilities

The operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring the high-speed blender to manufacture PVC blends according to required standards. This role ensures safety, quality, and efficiency targets are met to support the production of medical-grade sheeting and tubing. The operator must complete all production and quality documentation, maintain equipment, and troubleshoot as needed.

Machine Preparation and Start-up

• Inspect and clean equipment at each shift start, verifying readiness.
• Program the blending machine with the specified recipe, ensuring SCADA setup accuracy.
• Ensure all raw materials are available and meet quality specifications based on the Batch Mixing Report (BMR).

Production and Blending Operation

• Operate the machine following SOPs, monitoring temperature, weight, and cycle timing.
• Ensure accurate measurement and mixing of raw materials, comparing against BMR.
• Select batch sizes and initiate blending cycles according to plans.

Quality Control and Monitoring

• Inspect printouts and graphs regularly to verify compliance with standards.
• Monitor quality parameters during blending, troubleshooting discrepancies to prevent defects.

Documentation and Reporting

• Complete production batch records accurately and maintain documentation, including SOP and quality logs.
• Generate daily Oracle batches, recording transactions related to materials and outputs.

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on blending machines and related equipment.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting and escalate issues as necessary.

Health, Safety, and GMP Compliance

• Follow GMP, safety, and SOP standards; report unsafe conditions.
• Participate in safety drills and adhere to OHS Act guidelines.

Supporting Cross-Functional Operations

• Provide relief for other roles, such as hopper filling, to ensure production continuity.
