Job summary

Potentiam Ltd in South Africa is seeking an AI Technical Trainer to deliver high-quality training to clients across UK and US time zones. You will design engaging virtual sessions and act as a SME for AI training programs.

The role requires strong Generative AI knowledge, hands-on Python/SQL experience, and proven ability to translate theory into practical learning. Hybrid work in Johannesburg or Cape Town with 09:00–18:00 SAST hours.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Generative AI concepts and prompt engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL and data processing frameworks.
• Experience with Databricks and AI/ML development workflows.
• Familiarity with TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation and coaching skills.
• Ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating with AI/ML engineers, data scientists and data teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Flexibility to work across Europe, UK and US time zones.

• Achieve and maintain a Trainer Satisfaction Score (TSAT) of 88%+
• Leverage learner feedback and trainer insights to continuously improve training quality
• Act as an AI Subject Matter Expert (SME), contributing to course design and client programs
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to support learning initiatives
• Conduct peer observations and provide constructive, actionable feedback
• Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies, tools, and industry best practices
• Enable learners to translate theoretical AI concepts into practical, real-world applications

• Familiarity with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills
• Ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences effectively
• Experience collaborating with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and data teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Flexibility to work across Europe, UK, and US time zones
