Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking an AI Software Engineer to own and ship the internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on production systems on top of LLMs, not model training, working directly with engineering leadership to turn a documented roadmap into shipped workflows.

You should have hands-on experience with LangChain/LangGraph and API integrations (OpenAI/Anthropic), plus REST APIs and cloud deployment. Remote role open to Latin America and South Africa.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Experience with LangChain/LangGraph or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and webhooks.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows and automation pipelines.

• Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours.
• Connect WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS into automation stack.

This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Internal tools that reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.

What You Bring

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.
