Placements24 is seeking an AI Software Engineer focused on MLOps to join our Stellenbosch team. You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, model training and deployment infrastructure, and monitoring systems to accelerate AI capabilities.

You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers in a hybrid environment, containerizing models and ensuring scalable, reliable ML workflows while staying current with industry best practices.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field.
• Proven Software Engineer with MLOps exposure.
• Python proficiency and shell scripting experience.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud ML services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding ML lifecycle and model deployment.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled AI Software Engineer with a focus on MLOps to join their innovative team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, ZA . This role adopts a hybrid work arrangement, offering a blend of in-office and remote work flexibility. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining the infrastructure and pipelines that enable the efficient development, deployment, and monitoring of machine learning models. This position requires a strong software engineering background combined with a deep understanding of ML concepts and best practices. You will work closely with data scientists and other engineers to streamline the ML lifecycle, ensuring scalability, reliability, and reproducibility. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure for model training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Automate ML workflows, including data preparation, feature engineering, model training, and evaluation.
• Implement tools and processes for model versioning, tracking, and reproducibility.
• Collaborate with data scientists to containerize models and prepare them for production.
• Set up and manage monitoring systems to track model performance and detect drift or anomalies.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of ML infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ML model deployment and performance.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest MLOps tools, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with significant exposure to MLOps principles and practices.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with shell scripting.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their MLOps services.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and the ML lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, essential for a hybrid team.
