Psybergate is an IT company that builds bespoke software solutions and provides highly skilled resources to its clients. We are looking for an AI Product Manager to join our financial services client based in Sandton for a 6-month contract role.

The AI Product Manager will identify, define, and deliver AI products that generate measurable business and user value. The role bridges business needs, user experience, AI technology, responsible AI practices, and commercial outcomes, overseeing product strategy and the full product lifecycle.

What you will be doing:

• Identify and prioritise AI opportunities based on business value, user needs, feasibility, data readiness, cost, and risk.
• Develop business cases and translate requirements into product features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritised backlogs.
• Define and maintain AI product roadmaps covering discovery, experimentation, pilots, releases, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Researchers, Architects, and Engineering teams to evaluate AI models and solution approaches.
• Define data requirements, quality standards, access constraints, and readiness criteria for AI use cases.
• Establish model and product evaluation frameworks, including performance metrics, baselines, testing, acceptance thresholds, and release criteria.
• Monitor product performance, adoption, quality, costs, and business outcomes, using feedback and evidence to drive improvements.
• Coordinate Responsible AI, governance, risk, security, privacy, legal, and compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop product positioning, value propositions, pricing approaches, cost models, and return-on-investment assessments.
• Drive user adoption, training, change management, and benefit realisation while managing budgets, suppliers, and stakeholder expectations.

What we are looking for:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, Business Science, or a related field
• Relevant AI certifications, such as Microsoft AI, Claude Associate, OpenAI, AWS, Google, or equivalent credentials.
• Experience in Product Management, Product Discovery, Business Analysis, or Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
• Experience in requirements elicitation, user story development, solution design, roadmap development, and backlog prioritisation.
• Demonstrated experience with Agile delivery methodologies and cross-functional product delivery.
• Foundational to intermediate knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI.
• Experience with data-driven products, including data quality, data governance, data modelling, and data readiness for AI and analytics.
• Experience supporting or managing pilots, Proofs of Concept (PoCs), A/B testing, and model evaluation frameworks.
• Proficiency in analytics and performance measurement tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI, AI governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, data privacy, and ethical AI practices.
• Experience developing business cases, financial models, ROI assessments, cost-benefit analyses, and pricing strategies for digital, data, or AI-enabled products.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to business audiences.
• Experience supporting change management, user adoption, and product value realisation.
