About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking technology company located in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, ZA , is seeking an experienced AI Product Manager to drive the strategy and roadmap for their innovative artificial intelligence offerings. This role requires a deep understanding of AI technologies and market trends, coupled with exceptional product management skills. You will be responsible for defining AI product vision, gathering market requirements, and collaborating closely with engineering, data science, and design teams to deliver impactful AI solutions. This is a Hybrid position, blending collaborative office work with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-powered products. Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer interviews to identify unmet needs and opportunities for AI innovation. Translate product strategy into detailed product requirements, user stories, and specifications for engineering and data science teams. Prioritize product features and backlog based on business value, user needs, and technical feasibility. Work closely with engineering and data science teams throughout the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and iteration. Develop and manage product launch plans, including go-to-market strategies, marketing collateral, and sales enablement materials. Monitor product performance, gather user feedback, and iterate on products to ensure market success. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and related technologies. Communicate product strategy and updates effectively to cross-functional teams and senior leadership. Champion the user experience and ensure AI products are intuitive, effective, and valuable. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure AI products meet regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. An MBA or Master's in a relevant technical field is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a significant focus on AI, machine learning, or data science products. Demonstrated understanding of AI/ML concepts, capabilities, and limitations. Proven ability to define product strategy, develop roadmaps, and manage product lifecycles. Experience working with agile development methodologies and cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience in the Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, ZA market is advantageous. Comfortable working in a Hybrid environment, balancing remote and in-office collaboration. Passion for technology and a strong desire to build innovative AI products.
