Placements24 is seeking a talented Data Engineer to build and maintain the data infrastructure for its AI Platform in Mossel Bay. You will design scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to support AI model development and deployment.

The role requires collaborating with AI researchers and ML engineers, ensuring data reliability and performance while enabling streamlined data access for analytics and experimentation in Mossel Bay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and cloud data services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and database design principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
• Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and transform data from various sources for AI/ML use cases.
