Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive AI Infrastructure Engineer in Soweto to design, build and maintain scalable AI/ML infrastructure. You will optimize compute resources, manage data storage, and support AI development and deployment pipelines in a hybrid work setting.

The role requires strong DevOps experience, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible). You will collaborate with AI researchers to meet infrastructure needs while ensuring security and compliance across

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure for AI/ML workloads.
Optimize hardware and software configurations for performance and efficiency in AI training and inference.
Manage and automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of AI development environments.
Implement and manage data storage solutions and data pipelines supporting AI projects.
