Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an AI Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain scalable AI and ML infrastructure at our Mahikeng facility. You will work across compute, storage, networking, and cloud environments to support AI research and development.

You will implement IaC, automate provisioning, monitor systems, and collaborate with data scientists to meet performance, security, and cost objectives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or DevOps in AI/ML environments.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP for AI/ML.
• Strong Linux, shell scripting, and containerization experience.
• Familiarity with Terraform and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage scalable AI/ML infrastructure.

You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security of our AI platforms, including hardware, software, and cloud environments. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable infrastructure for AI/ML workloads.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or DevOps, with a focus on AI/ML environments.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated services for AI/ML.
• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience with performance monitoring and logging tools.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and workflows is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment at our Mahikeng, North West location.
