Job summary

LexisNexis is seeking a Legal Editor, AI Content Updating, to lead the commissioning, development and ongoing evolution of authoritative legal content across print and digital platforms. You will work with expert authors and AI-enabled tools to keep content current, accurate and commercially relevant at scale.

The role blends editorial excellence with relationship management, commercial awareness, and technical fluency to shape how legal knowledge is created, updated and delivered.

Qualifications

• Legal or professional background with a law qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in commissioning, legal publishing, and content development with portfolio ownership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead through change.
• Ability to build strong relationships with expert authors.
• Willingness to innovate and apply new technologies in editorial work.
• Strong editorial judgment and attention to quality.
• Effective project management and organisational skills.
• Comfortable using AI-enabled tools and reviewing AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Commission and manage legal content portfolios across platforms with AI-enabled lifecycle management.
• Recruit, onboard, and manage external authors and reviewers with AI drafting guidance.
• Own end-to-end commissioning lifecycle: business cases, budgets, contracts, schedules, quality.
• Plan content development by tracking legislative developments using AI tools.
• Provide editorial oversight and AI-supported updating.
• Support design and testing of generative AI tools for commissioning and updating.
• Operate with AI as standard in workflow, document prompts, verify outputs before publication.
