Job summary

Discovery Limited’s AI Developer role is part of the Digital Lab within Group Information Services. You will collaborate with the Digital Innovation and Product Management teams to understand requirements and develop AI web-based solutions throughout the full development lifecycle.

The incumbent will support development across dev/test/prod, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code and reliable performance for Discovery platforms. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• IT related degree or diploma.
• Cloud platform certification (GCP, Azure) and Java certification.
• Experience with SOAP and REST services.
• Unit testing and mocking frameworks.
• Source control, experience with GIT.
• Experience with WebLogic application servers.
• OO design principles and development patterns.
• Experience with cloud platform services (Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket).

Responsibilities

• Participate in ideation, prototype development and project estimates.
• Develop, test, and maintain deployed application software with high quality standards.
• Usability testing of new features and incorporate feedback.
• Research new techniques, tools and share knowledge with team.
• Perform strategic analysis and understand business/enterprise architecture.
• Clarify requirements and implement functional and non-functional aspects.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers for a high-quality product.
• Analyse and troubleshoot existing applications across environments.
• Produce technical specifications and designs.
• Present to senior stakeholders.
• Support and guide junior staff and peers.
