As the sector changes, the socio-economic landscape of agriculture has shifted, bringing new entrants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds. These new farmers face challenges in establishing sustainable agribusinesses. The Land Bank acts as a financial lifeline, offering products designed to support personal and commercial viability across the agricultural value chain.

Main Purpose of the Job

1. Provide professional agricultural, economic, and technical expertise to support the Province in evaluating the viability of financing customers. This includes conducting on-site visits to understand the business operations and minimize potential risks and financial losses.
2. Perform on-farm agronomical and financial assessments for high-risk and delinquent clients. Make recommendations for remediation, rate farms/businesses according to the bank’s risk models, schedule security inspections, and manage collateral in accordance with the loan agreement and CMS policy. This involves identifying collateral shortfalls to reduce risk and prevent losses, referring farmers to technical service providers, and advising on improvements to farm status and risk mitigation.
3. Provide ongoing technical advice to the provincial team to ensure the submission of high-quality applications for new and distressed loans.
