Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Mahikeng, North West, to design, develop, and improve agricultural machinery from concept to production. You will use CAD tools to create components, assemblies, and BOMs while collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, and sales to meet product requirements.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of mechanical design experience in agriculture or heavy equipment, with strong CAD skills (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) and knowledge of materials, manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering.
• 2-4 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in agriculture or heavy equipment.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new agricultural machinery components using CAD.
• Perform mechanical analysis to ensure strength and durability.
• Create detailed drawings, assembly instructions, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and sales to meet requirements.
• Assist in fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototypes.
• Identify design improvements to reduce costs and improve manufacturability.
• Stay informed on agricultural industry trends.
• Provide technical support to production and address field issues.
• Ensure designs comply with safety and environmental standards.
