Job summary

Curro Langebaan is inviting applications for a Primary School Intermediate Phase teacher. The role involves teaching and coordinating a range of subjects as per the Curro curriculum for the intermediate phase, with emphasis on active teaching, knowledge transfer and growing positive learner attitudes.

Requirements include a BEd and/or PGCE in the intermediate phase, a minimum of 2 years’ experience, knowledge of the IEB curriculum, and strong facilitation, report-writing and communication

Qualifications

• BEd and/or PGCE in intermediate phase teaching.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an intermediate phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.
• Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate a range of subjects per the Curro curriculum for the intermediate phase.
• Review and adjust term plans; create customised plans to support class pace and lessons.
• Manage the classroom, including design, setup, discipline and communication with learners and parents.
• Set up and manage assessments (formal and continuous).
• Plan and manage homework per subject and oversee peer marking.
• Plan and manage extramural activities and outings.
