St Dominic’s is looking for a dynamic Afrikaans educator for Grades 8-12. The successful candidate will have a commitment to teaching excellence and will be involved in the extra-mural life of the school. Applicants must meet the educational qualifications and have three years of teaching experience in IEB schools.

St Dominic’s is an independent Catholic day-school for girls situated in Boksburg. The school which accommodates learners from Grade 0000 to Grade 12 was established in 1923 and enjoys a long and proud history of educational and sporting excellence.

St Dominic’s is a member of the Independent Schools of Southern Africa (ISASA) and the Catholic School’s Board and offers examinations set by the Independent Examinations Board (IEB).
An opportunity has arisen for St Dominic’s to appoint an Afrikaans educator First Additional Language (Grades 8 – 12) in the Senior School. Although Afrikaans will be the main focus of teaching, educators should also be able to offer another subject. We therefore invite applications from dynamic, motivated and innovative professionals, who are committed to teaching excellence and willing to be part of an experienced team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Offer suitable teaching and professional qualifications;
  • Have a current, valid SACE registration;
  • Be willing to supply police clearance with the Child Protection Act and Sexual Offences Register;
  • Have at least three years teaching experience at Grade 12 level preferably in an IEB school;
  • Be able to teach another teaching subject, if required;
  • Be committed to educational excellence and passionate about education;
  • Be willing to become meaningfully involved in the extra-mural life of the school;
  • Be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft TEAMS;
  • Identify with and support the Catholic Ethos, Values and Mission of the school.
