Job Description
CrossBoundary (CB) is currently looking to engage with qualified Investment Advisors (IA) to sourceand execute significant investments in partnership withthe US Development Finance Corporate (DFC) across various regions within Sub-Saharan Africa.You will be tasked with the origination and due diligence of potential transactions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Market Engagement and Transaction Origination:

  • Build and maintain a strong network of contacts in public and private sectors to facilitate economic activity.

  • Serve as the principal point of contact in prospecting the market and building a pipeline of financeable deals.

  • Identify and pre-screen opportunities for all product lines.

  1. Transaction Execution and Due Diligence:

  • Assist with transaction execution and due diligence for transactions.

  • Monitor and report on policy or legislation changes affecting transactions.

  1. Performance Monitoring:

  • Support post-execution performance monitoring for transactions that have reached financial close.

  • Assist with the verification of conditions needed to authorize subsequent disbursements.

  1. Representation & Engagement:

  • Serve as a senior point of contact for stakeholders.

  • Represent the organization in conferences and interdepartmental activities.

  1. Investment Analysis and Negotiation:

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of new investments.

  • Evaluate financial, technical, economic, legal, marketing, and political feasibility.

  • Support negotiations on investment terms, collateral security, and policy requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, financial advisory, or related fields.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Expertise in project structuring, corporate and project finance, and financial modeling.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Existing network of professional contacts in frontier markets preferred.

  • US citizenship required.

  1. Additional Advantages:

  • Experience in emerging markets and familiarity with development finance.

  • Willingness to locate in relevant emerging markets as required.

  • Experience in international markets, with preference for an existing network of professional contacts in respective regions.

  • Knowledge of the investment landscape in SSA markets.
